My eyes sluggishly opened, accompanied by a sharp, unforgettable pain. They were open; however, my vision was significantly blurred. The only sight I could comprehend was tiny white dots, spread out on a dark canvas. My hearing was overpowered by a high-pitched noise, transmitting pain to my head. My brain was becoming consumed with panic. All I knew was that I needed to escape this horrifying endangerment, so I desperately attempted to move any part of my body that would cooperate. When this resulted in failure, I knew that death was inevitable.

When people asked if she was ok, she only ever told them, "Yes, I'm fine," or some equivalent empty phrase. The words were enough to sate their pretend curiosity and they never asked any further questions because that was how it was supposed to be. "I'm fine," was her anthem and everyone believed it because it was too inconvenient to look for the truth.
